Things are changing

My first blog post.
I guess the question is, why start blogging?
Well, things are changing in my life.
BIG things.

Zach is enlisting in the Army on THURSDAY.
Two days from now things are going to be completely different.
The moment he signs that contract he's theirs for 6 years. He'll get his
date for bootcamp, and then training is after that.
Which means weeks and weeks without him here.
After training he'll go away to a base, where ever they want to send him.
Things are no longer going to be normal, and honestly,
I'm going to have a LOT of spare time on my hands.
Hence, blogging :)

Also, I start Veterinary Technician school in less than
two weeks. I'm doing a distance program that allows me to
do most of my schoolwork at work, so it's incredibly hands on.
This is going to be my career, and I'm so excited!
I'm still finishing up my bachelor's degree at VCU, but
in Vet Tech school I'll be taking courses
that I'm actually interested in!

Another reason for this blog is to keep my creative
juices flowing. With all of the schoolwork I've loaded on
in the past few years I haven't made any time
for artwork. I haven't truly, wholeheartedly worked
on artwork since high school.
That was a long time ago.

So this summer I'm making it my goal to start creating again. I feel
like I haven't done any drawing or painting in so
long that I've lost so much of my talent. But the
only way to get it back is to do it everyday.
So, I started tonight! I broke out the watercolors.
(I haven't used watercolors in literally like 5 years..)
But, I managed to make a decent header for my blog :)

This blog is going to be a collision of random happenings,
artwork, photos, inspirations, things God is teaching me, recipes,
traveling, and whatever else I can come up with.

I hope you enjoy reading :)
